Eating is a celebration of life...

...symbolic of the good things the Earth has provided; symbolic of the labor of love in the hands that prepared it.

Sunday (or whenever) dinners have purpose and meaning: along with good food, they are times when families can unite, talk about issues, talk about each other's lives, be together. Turn off the television, turn off the computer. Turn off the work pressures. Enjoy your family, your friends, your self.

Cooking As Therapy

I first started cooking out of necessity, of course, but it quickly graduated into therapy and release. Creative moments come to me while I am cooking. It is therapeutic. Food is good. Food is very good. I can think about things, think about balance and timing, challenge old standards, push to create.

Anyone can learn to cook, if they want to. Baby steps. Get a simple recipe. Give it a try. Expand your mind. If you don't want to cook, find someone who does and enjoy their creations. Help them out.
